Welcome to Oilympics 2012 |
Last year, our Charity Hockey Tournament raised a record $135,000. Since our first tournament in 2004, we have raised and donated over 1.2 MILLION DOLLARS to various local charities throughout our community.
From our sponsors to our players and volunteers, we would like to thank everyone who made this tournament a huge success!
2012 Charity
The 2012 edition of the Oilympics Hockey Tournament will support the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, Division of Hematology & Multiple Myeloma Research. The Oilympics Executive Committee has chosen this beneficiary after our good friend Ken Zandee was diagnosed with multiple myeloma last October.

The 2012 Oilympics Break-Cup supports Ken and his family in their fight against multiple myeloma, a rare form of bone marrow cancer. There is limited research and literature available on myeloma. Dr. Nizar Bahlis, Ken's doctor, is a specialist researching and treating myeloma in the Division of Hematology at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. Proceeds from this year's event will be destined to fund his research.
Tomas Baker Cancer Centre
The Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary is the main cancer treatment centre for Southern Alberta and a lead centre for the province-wide prevention, research and treatment program, providing advanced medical and supportive cancer care, patient and professional education, and conducts research through the Alberta Cancer Research Institute. The Tom Baker Cancer Centre handles approximately 130,000 patient appointments annually and supports cancer-related research activities.
