Oilympics raised $100,000 this year for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation to fund cancer research. These funds will help the Alberta Children's Hospital find new treatments and better cures for the benefit of hundreds of children and their families facing childhood cancer.

The OCC COMMITTEE would like to thank all the efforts of the current/past sponsors and players in the tournament.  In the past 17 years, we have raised over $1,000,000. This tournament would not be successful without everyone's effort.

The Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation is presented with a $100,000 cheque from the 2010 Oilympics Charity Hockey Tournament.

The Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation

Childhood Cancer Research

The Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation supports excellence in child health programs, life-saving equipment and pediatric research to help the 75 thousand children and families who rely on the hospital for specialized care every year. Through the generosity of our donors, the Foundation has provided more than $250 million in funding to the hospital which is now poised to lead the nation in child health especially in childhood cancer, neurosciences, child health research and family centred care.

Your support through the 2010 Oilympics Hockey Tournament will fund important childhood cancer research. Our vision is to find new cures and provide better treatments for children with cancer. Cancer is the number one cause of death due to disease in children. Today, one in five children with cancer dies. Forty years ago, 80% of children with cancer died. Today 80% survive. Ongoing research, particularly through therapeutic clinical trials, is largely responsible for increased survival rates.

Thank you for helping to make this vision a reality for the benefit of children and families in our community!
